CYO Volleyball Evaluations
Nativity CYO volleyball is open to all parishioners and student girls entering 4th-8th grade. An open gym will be held August 13th from 6 -7:30 p.m. for practice.
Fourth graders will not have evaluations. Girls will sign up to play and teams will be formed.
Evaluations for all other grades will be held August 20 for 5th and 7th grade: 5th grade from 4:30-6:15p.m. and 7th grade from 6:30-8 p.m.
Evaluations for 6th and 8th grade will be August 21.
6th grade is from 4:30-6:15 p.m. and 8th grade from 6:30-8 p.m.

Registration and Deadlines
An announcement is usually placed in the church bulletin through July and August. Tryouts are typically held in the gym in the third week of August. All participants must register online with CYO and pay the $20 CYO fee BEFORE tryouts.
Volleyball is open to all fifth through eighth grade girls in Nativity parish.
Participation
Volleyball is open to all Nativity parishioners in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. The volleyball coordinator sets up each tryout session (one for each grade), in which volleyball skills are objectively evaluated by a third-party individual. Based on skill level, girls are placed on A, B, and C teams for their grade. A coach will notify the player of their team. Please note, the coordinator is in no way involved in tryout evaluations and has no say in team placement.
Fee
The Athletic Committee determines participation fees each year.
Required Uniforms
Players are required to purchase a Nativity volleyball jersey.
Practice
Practice is held twice a week September through October.
Games
Games are played on weekends beginning in mid-September through October.
Coaching
Parent volunteers are needed and each must be VIRTUS-trained prior to having any contact with the team. Click for more information about VIRTUS training, or call Karen McDonald in the Parish Office, 913-491-5017.
All coaches must be VIRTUS trained.
